Is this making fun of my family?
No — it's a wink, not a diagnosis of anyone. Naming a pattern out loud takes a little of its power away; the humor is the point, not a judgment on the person who says these lines.
What if a line on my card is genuinely harmful, not just familiar?
That's different from what this card is for. If a dynamic is genuinely harmful rather than just familiar and eye-roll-worthy, the
self-compassion guide and
support page are the real next steps — not a bingo card.
What happens when I get bingo?
You'll see a short prompt with three real next steps: a line to say instead, why you might say yes anyway (the fawn response), and permission to go easy on yourself about it — not just a congratulations.
Can I get a new card?
Yes — "Shuffle new card" draws a fresh set of 24 phrases (never more than 3 from the same "archetype" like guilt-tripper or minimizer, and never a repeat phrase on one card). "Reset marks" clears your progress on the current card.
Is there a version with different phrases?
Yes — "They Said What?" is the funnier, more absurd sibling of this card if you want a different flavor of the same idea.
Where do my entries go?
Your card layout and marks live in this browser only — nothing is ever sent anywhere. Clearing your browser's cache or site data resets them for good; there's no copy or export here, just "Shuffle new card" and "Reset marks."
